Bill Meyer Bio PhotoMy parents immigrated to the states from Germany and, even though I was born here, when I started school, I didn’t speak any English.

I was raised attending a denominational church and went to a Bible college, but I was only a Christian because my family was. I majored in girls and general studies at school. After attending for part of 4 years, I dropped out of college, got a job in a factory and got married. It wasn’t long before my wife left me, and I was devastated and embarrassed.

I left the church I was attending because of my shame and started attending an Assemblies of God church, where I began my own walk in faith. It was there that I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with a prayer language. That was presented as the ultimate for a Christian on earth and my next step was Heaven.

However, I still had to go to the altar to get saved any time I screwed up and was essentially trying to work hard enough to make sure I got to Heaven.

In this season, I connected with the love of my life. Debbie and I have been married 36 years and have three wonderful children. Our third awesome grandchild is on the way, due July 2020.

We love church as a family and have been involved in teaching, administration, helps, service and hospitality wherever we have been. In our early years as a family, we began going with youth groups on mission trips and joined YWAM. We ended up in Mexico in the early 1990s on a mission base where we grew to love foreign outreaches. I have been part of or lead half a dozen trips to Mexico since then and am excited for this season’s new opportunity.

About ten years ago, God was revealing aspects of Himself to me in scripture that were different than I had been taught in churches. A hunger for more of Him has kept increasing to this day. The desire for the New Testament lifestyle that the Word showed me has brought me to a burning passion to see our city’s culture changed.

Jesus said in Mathew 10:7-8, “Go, preach this message: The Kingdom of Heaven is near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”

Mathew 6:10 Jesus prays, “Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.”

Ephesians 4:11 says that He gave His bride some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers.

I believe we as the church should actually do what the Bible says and heal the sick. Not just pray for them — Set the captives free. Raise the dead. Make use of prophets and apostles for what they were given for. “On earth as it is in Heaven“ that is a mandate that we are given the responsibility for.

I now partner with a number of local ministries and I am equipping people in their gifts and callings with an emphasis on the prophetic.

AMI believes that to be fact and I am blessed to be a partner.
