pageAmor Ministries International is presently governed by a minimum 4 member Board of Directors committed to providing oversight, guidance and support to AMI’s ministry staff.
They are active in assisting the ministry to achieve its mission by praying and listening for God’s direction. They also take seriously their fiduciary duties to its supporters. Directors are associated with various fellowship groups across the U.S. where they serve in various ministry and leadership roles.
The primary responsibility of an AMI Director is to assure that all necessary requirements are met in order to preserve the mission platform in order that it can remain a powerful tool as a ministry base. This involves making sure that the ministry activities and conduct is aligned with the written word of God and the general vision for the ministry. It also requires making sure the ministry fulfills any needed requirements by the government that allows it to maintain its status as a 501-C3 corporation.
Contributions are received and allocated by an independent accountant firm located in Dallas, Texas where AMI is registered as a 501-C3 corporation. They are responsible for submitting tax returns to the IRS and maintaining financial records.
The board of directors oversees and approves documents submitted to the US government by our accounting firm.
The board of directors must meet, whether in person or via conference call, at least once per year to fulfill their legal obligations for maintaining the corporation. However, meeting at least twice yearly is AMI’s goal in order to make sure that communications and camaraderie are maintained.
The basic minimal requirements of a director require about 10 hours/year. However, not counting mission activities, some directors may spend up to 100 hours/year, depending on their level of voluntary involvement.
Greig Detering serves as AMI’s overall vision carrier and mission leader and is AMI’s only full time employee. He has had the primary responsibility for working together with the Board, and for planning and oversight of AMI’s day to day operations.
Greig, Robert Johnson and the Directors work together to identify who God is calling to join our ministry efforts, whether on a one-time mission trip basis or on a longer term permanent mission team basis.
AMI is expanding to not only preach what we see as the things that God wants to convey to His church, but to train people in such things as understanding their biblical true identity as believers, and knowing how to work together to discern what God is saying to them.
These activities help pave the way for establishing new structures and ways of thinking that Jesus, by His Spirit, desires to establish in His church.
